Niankh-khnum and Khnum-hotep were two dignitaries who lived during the Fifth Dynasty, during the reign of King Niussere. They are always mentioned together because they were brothers, probably twins; they even built a single mastaba for them both.
They held the same position in the Fifth Dynasty, which was related to the field of cosmetics; they were heads of the manicurists of the great house
On the walls of their tomb, in most of the scenes, they are represented together, sometimes, holding each other, especially in the offering room where they are depicted embracing each other affectionately, united by strong ties, to indicate that they wished to be together eternally, even in the netherworld
