Apis was the sacred bull of Memphis. He was called the son of Ptah. When Apis died, his mother became the goddess Isis. The Apis bull is painted in black except for a small white triangle on his forehead; between his horns there is the solar disk adorned with the uraeus, or the cobra goddess Wadjet. On his back there is a portrayal of the winged vulture goddess. The cult center of Apis was located north of Memphis in the Delta towns of Saïs and Athribis.
أبيس هو عجل ممفيس المقدس. وقد لقب بابن بتاح. وعندما توفى أبيس، أصبحت والدته الربة إيزيس. وقد لون العجل أبيس باللون الأسود فيما عدا مثلث أبيض صغير على جبهته، وبين قرنيه يوجد قرص الشمس مزين بالصل أو الربة الكوبرا ودجت. كما يوجد على ظهره رسم للربة النسرة المجنحة. وكان مركز عبادة أبيس يقع فى شمال ممفيس فى مدن سايس وأثريبس بالدلتا
