Photo of the Day: Cylindrical Musical Instrument - Coptic Heritage
A musical instrument that is almost cylindrical and is composed of two parts, each of which is hollow. It has a short handle, as big as the palm of the hand.In the cavity very small pieces of metal are usually placed; the two parts are fitted together and, when shaken by hand, a rhythmical musical sound is produced.

Instrument de musique de forme cylindrique. Il se compose à peu près de deux parties, chacune d'elles arrondies à l'intérieur. Il y'a une petite poignée suffisante seulement, pour la pomme de la main.On mettait à l'intérieur de la cavité des touts petits bouts de métal de façon à ce que l'on mette les deux parties l'une sur l'autre pour refermer l'instrument. Puis en le secouant, il produit des sons selon le rythme volu.

آله موسيقية أسطوانية الشكل تقريبا تتكون من جزئين كل منهم مستدير من الداخل، لها يد قصيره تكفي لكف اليد فقط
كان يوضع داخل التجويف قطع صغيره جدا من المعدن بحيث توضع الجزئين فوق بعضها وتغلق الآله، ثم عن طريق هزها باليد تحدث صوتا موسيقيا حسب الايقاع المطلوب
